Village life in Ghandruk, from sunrise to dusk.

Ghandruk is one of the great Gurung villages of the Annapurna foothills: stone steps, slate roofs and trails that lead on to Annapurna Base Camp and the Ghorepani loop. RJ Boutique Hotel sits right on that view.

Come in from a day on the trail to a hot shower, a warm bed and a Gurung welcome, then step into the garden and watch the peaks catch the last light.

The people

Gurung hospitality, felt from the first cup of tea.

Watercolour: Two men sharing tea under prayer flags

Ghandruk is a Gurung village, and the hotel is built from hand-cut local stone, carved timber and slate. Guests often tell us the conversations about Gurung culture, traditions and trekking are as memorable as the view.

The Gurung way

Nine values that we live by.

It all begins with Atithi Devo Bhava. You will meet the rest over tea, on the trail and at the table.

  1. Atithi Devo BhavaThe guest is god

Every guest is welcomed with respect, care and an open heart. Hospitality is a sacred tradition.

  2. SantosaContentment

The quiet joy of enough. Strive for tomorrow, but be at peace with today.

  3. MaitriFriendship

Unconditional kindness and friendship, to others and to ourselves.

  4. SajhaShared abundance

We thrive when we share. True abundance flows when we lift each other up.

  5. SaharaSupport

The strength we borrow from each other. Together, we go further.

  6. SajiloEase and simplicity

The simplest path is often the right path. Move with ease, and life becomes beautiful.

  7. DharmaPurpose

Your righteous path. When your work serves a purpose greater than yourself, everything aligns.

  8. BiswasTrust

Deep trust in the flow of life. Let go of fear and let life carry you.

  9. MaThe self

The stillness within. Be present, be aware, and before you act, return to yourself.
